"A Family Tradition for 125 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, July 3, 1991 - 23 UCW to entertain at Nursing Home Seagrave News by Ann Sandiford Hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day weekend. The weather man sure cooperated with some nice, but not so hot, weather. It was nice to see lots of red and white balloons and Cana- dian flags in town on Monday night for the fireworks. It was also nice to listen to a program on T.V. which came from Vancouver and included lots of songs about Canada. Sure made you feel pro- ud to be a Canadian!! Clarence and Gretel Cameron enjoyed a visit with their daughter Marjorie and grand- daughter Shannon this past weekend. Seagrave Church News The Board of Session will be leading the service Sunday, July 7 on the theme 'Brotherly Love'. The choir is preparing special music for this occasion. The next communion service will be July 14. The U.C.W. will entertain at the Port Perry Nursing home on Male chorus concert planned for September SS Prince Albert \ by Peggy Bredin Now that I'm on holidays I hope you notice how cool it is. And rain, do you remember what rain look- ed like. Wow!! Mrs. Mary Devitt visited with the Beacocks and enjoyed the strawberry supper at the Prince Albert Church. They had a great time. Dinner was delicious. Speaking of Prince Albert United Church, they will be celebrating their 125th anniver- sary in September. Now I know you think that September is a long way off but if you want tickets for the DeFasco Male Chorus you must get them now from Doug McMillan. There will be only 200 tickets sold. It would be a shame to have such a fabulous choir in our area and not to have tickets because you put things off until it was too late. Call Doug now!! For tickets to the salad buffet dinner on September 29, call any of the following Lorraine Andrews, Sarah Elliott, Dorothy Hope, An- drea Jones, Ilean Pugh, Norma Robinson or Doug McMillan. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bradburn were dinner company of Les and Grace Beacock on Sunday. Remember Earlene Arm- strong. If anyone has any news of her please let us all know!! The U.C.W. catered to the funeral of Mr. Bill Parry. Mrs. Margaret McCree Parry his widow, lived for sometime in the village. Our deepest sympathy goes out to her. | Wednesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the ladies and gentlemen having birthdays in July. Happy Birthday everyone! That brings the Canoe the Nonquon commit- tee's donations this year to $8,000. The committee gave $2,000 to the museum earlier this year to help cover the cost of repairs to the log cabin. The co-chairmen said the dona- tions were made possible because of the strong community support --- both in participants and sponsors - toward the Canoe the Nonquon race.
