We are thinking of you Don. Trust you'll soon be home! We attended the S.A. Cawker Public School Christmas Concert, on Wednesday, December 19th, and enjoyed it immensely. A large crowd, and all classes gave excellent presentations. Con- gratulations are in order for these hard working teachers, principal Harry Kiezebrink and vice- principal H. Daleman, and the pianist was terrific - Kim Dick! A happy New Year to you all! Congratulations to those who contributed Christmas stories to the Star. They were most in- teresting to read! Happy birthday - a belated one - to Christine Cawker of Cobourg, who celebrated on December 22. Best wishes for a good year ahead! Sympathy Extended __ Our deepest sympathy goes out to a good friend, June Degeer and family of Blackstock in the loss of her beloved husband Harry just recently. Our thoughts and prayers are with you June at this sad time in your life. A Note of Interest Those scribblings you make during a phone call tell something about you, according to psychologists. If you doodle animals or birds you are affec- tionate and understanding. Ar- rows mean your goals are high. Checkerboards and squares show logic and emotional stability, while boats indicate energy and a wish for freedom. Flowers and trees show loneliness, circles give away the day-dreamer. Keep in mind the Re-cycling game! A better environment depends on.you and me. We can make a great difference. Even your newspaper - when through with reading it; drop it in the recycling depot at Blackstock. So! It's up to all of us to reduce, reuse and recycle! New Year's dance at hall By the time you read this, all the excitement of Christmas 1990 will be over leaving many fond memories, with, of course, some sad happenings as well. Now, we think of new resolu- tions. Usually we feel we can plan for the New Year. But this year leaves us with many doubts with war clouds in the air, recession and crime on the increase. This may be a year for great courage and consideration for the source of our help.
