Many fond memories are created during car- oling parties, family decorating ses- sions and cookie baking. Every family has its own unique traditions...and as children grow and begin their own families, some old traditions take hold and new ones begin. Update your recipes As families get busier, some tradi- tional customs need to be modified to fit into their schedules. And, some tra- ditional holiday foods might need to be updated to reduce their calorie and fat content. People are getting fit and try- ing to stay that way. They are watching their weight, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, too. Creating warm memories for the family during the holidays doesn't have to be difficult or time consuming. A simplified holiday treat will take the stress away from the baker...and the family will still love the tradition it represents. Start a new tradition Sometimes creating a tradition can be as easy as updating an old favorite. The home economists at Oster have updated three holiday favorites that your family will love. Why not try all three soon? Here's a nonalcoholic replacement for champagne punch. Sparkling and delightful, it is sure to please.
