Randy Dowson and Bob Brown have been hired to flood the ice surface, groom it and keep it clear of snow. Operating funds will come from several sources, including the sale of tickets, advertising boards and the the concession booth. Volunteer groups in the community have agreed to pro- vide people to work at the rink in various capacities. Mr. Cope, who has done a lot of work in setting up the committee, said the amount of community support for the pro- ject has been sold. And committee members feel that once the rink is ready for skating, it will prove popular with local residents and visitors alike. One of the reasons for de- veloping this project this winter is to help draw visitors to Port Perry in an effort to give the business community an eco- nomic shot in the arm. The skating area will be fenced and supervised during the "open hours of operation." The committe has yet to de- termine exactly what those hours will be, but the tentative plans are to have it open each evening during the week and during the day and evening on the weekends. airy HI-FI £ Special Price £649.
