The team scoliosis refers to a sideways cur- vature of the spine. The most common form of scoliosis is called idiopathic scoliosis, which simply means "of no known cause." Idiopathic scoliosis accounts for approx- imately 70 percent of all scoliosis cases. This form of scoliosis may be present from infancy to adulthood and is seven times more common in females than males. Other less common forms of scoliosis may be associated with such conditions as spina bifida, polio, cerebral palsy, and muscular dystrophy. With early detection, scoliosis may be treated prior to abnormal bone growth. In severe cases of Scoliosis that have been left un- treated, intense pain and deformi- ty may result which can interfere with the functioning of the heart and lungs. Dorothy's birthday is not until Christmas Eve, so you still have a few days to give her a hug. I hope that when I become a grandmother that I'll be half as good a one as Dorothy. A pre Christmas gathering was held Sunday at the Lloyd Pereman's with Lloyds family members. Mrs. Pearl Gostick returned home on Saturday after spending 2 weeks with her son Gordon and Agnes in Florida. Recent visitors of Les and Grace Beacock were Mrs. (Nor- man) Grace Wilson Jackson from Brooklin and Mrs. (J.) Marion Martyn Lake of Oakwood. There were former neighbours when Grace & Les were on the farm. A small crowd attended the weekly euchre due to other ac- tivities and the weather. The win- ners for the evening were Ladies: Elsie Pogue, Heida Krieg, Myrtle APPLES for SALE Gimblett. Men's: Clarence Buton, Carl Gimblett and Richard Manns. Lucky draw winners were Richard Manns, Myrtle Gimblett and Bert Daniels. The Special Christmas euchre will be on Thursday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. with no euchre on December 27. Merv and Ilean Pugh attended a pre Christmas gathering at their daughters Bonnie and Paul Solomon & family on Sunday. Other members joining the fami- ly were Wayne and Dianne Pugh and boys and grandmother Gostick. A small but lively gathering was held at Prince Albert Sunday School. Mrs. Hunter cooked tasty hot dogs and Mrs. Moynes allow- ed the children to decorate their own cupcakes. Mr. J. helped by passing out presents and keeping control of the mighty throng. This will be at the regular church time 11:30. Come out and see this last perfor- mance of Mrs. Eva Hunter before she retires. Prince Albert has worked hard on this.
