All proceeds raised will go towards the residents activity fund which supports trips, craft supplies, parties, entertaiment, etc.. A special thank you to the Legion, Snowmobile Club and Goreski"s for the loan of the tables, the Galley for the loan of their Hot Dog machine and 1.G A. for lending us their coffee urns. We also want to express our ap- preciation to all those terrific volunteers for their many hours of help for the bazaar. Monday, December 3rd was spent cleaning up from the bazaar. During the afternoon we celebrated with a Success Tea. Everyone was busy writing Christmas cards and doing their wish list on Tuesday. Wednesday (5), we sponsored manicures, foot clinic and shoeshine. A special thank you to the Pathfinders for coming in to visit us in the evening. The following day we all joined in to decorate the Christmas trees. Friday, December 7 a bus load of residents headed to Deer Lodge in Haliburton for a day of fun. Upon our arrival e receiv- ed a delicious light lunch. We then gathered in the "Woodshed Pub" for Reindeer races. The residents sure got a kick out of betting on the reindeer. Throughout the afternoon, we attended a Wine & Cheese social time. Santa even stopped by for a visit. When sup- per arrived evervone enioved a turkey dinner with all the trimm- ings. Upon our trip home we got to view the lovely Christmas lights. Another busy week began with our monthly birthday party on Monday, December 10. Our hosts for the day were the Sr. Citizen Club. The Sr. Citizen Choir sang many lovely Christmas carols while accompanied by Mrs. E. Beckett on the piano. The next day we held a carol sing, led by Claire Whitter. Many residents were starting to get into their festive moods. Midweek we headed to 5-points Mall for a day of Christmas shop- ping. Everyone felt so good inside while purchasing gifts for our needy family that we are suppor- ting over Christmas time. A delightful lunch was had at the Golden Gate restaurant. During the evening, some residents went to see the Miller Lites perform 'A Christmas Carol" at the Town Hall. A great performance by some very talented kids. Thursday morning began with "Breakfast with Santa." After lunch we were all busy with wrap- ping gifts. Then throughout the evening was the annual Rotary Club Christmas dinner held at the Catholic Hall. Everyone had a great time singing carols and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely turkey dinner. There was truly a happy festive atmosphere in the air. Friday, December 14 the Lind- say Concert Band came to visit and kept us well entertained with their beautiful music. In the even- ing the Legion carollers walked the halls singing to their hearts content. Saturday afternoon. we had the P.P.H.S. Quintet provide us with delightful entertainment. Birthday wishes are sent out to Mrs. Jenny Stearman (21), Mrs. Frances Cervanka (22), Mr. Walter Leiter (24), and Mrs. Howard Lee (Jan. 1). Some of our upcoming events throughout December are Residents Council Meeting (19), Christmas Party (20), Sippin' and Singing - 1:30 (24), Santa Visits (25), Christmas Show and Tell (27), Lindsay Concert Band - 2 p.m. (28), and Trip to Cannington for New Years Tea (31). Please join us over the festive season. We'd love to see you.
