The awards, pr2sented by Dr. Pierre Potvin, Chair of the Chemical Institute of Canada, Toronto Section, Ambrose Samulski, Co-ordinator of the Chemical and Food and Drug pro- grams at Durham College, and representatives from the industry consisted of two national medals and two book prizes. The recipients of the Chemical Institute of Canada Medal, a na- tional award for outstanding academic achievements, were Lisa Morton, of the Food and Drug Technology program and Gordon Robertson of the Chemical Engineering Technology program. The award included a medal, cheque, and membership in the Chemical In- stitute of Canada. For academic ac- complishments and involvement in student activities, a book prize consisting of a cheque to buy books and a certificate, was presented to Derek Amell from the Chemical Engineering Technology program and Richard Bosse of the Food and Drug Technology program.
