Gifts for Armed Forces Hello everyone from the 1st Greenbank Brownie Pack. We have several exciting things to tell you. The first is a big welcome to our new brownies - congratula- tions goes to Julie Belair, Dawn VanSeters, Shannon Madill, Katie Hunter, Angela Baker and Katie Martin who graduated from Tweens to "Real Brownies' on Nov. 13. On Nov. 20 a former brownie of Greenbank from thirteen years ago, Mrs. Shirley Tache came to speak to our girls on water safe- ty. Incidently her brownie leaders were Marie Cookman, Marie Foster and Mrs. Lovering. It is always nice to have a guest at our meeting, if anyone would like to come teach us something new please feel free to call Dot, Lila, or Betty. Last Saturday we all jumped on a wagon to be led by The Pied Piper in the Port Perry Santa Claus Parade. You may not have recognized us as we were dress- ed like mice. Special thanks to Betty & John VanSeters for the wagon. This year the Sunderland District, including the Greenbank Brownies, Guides and Pathfinder units are sponsoring a program called "Operation Peace & Hope Through Communities Caring." This is a community project to acknowledge our Canadian Forces in the Perisan Gulf, who won't be home for Christmas. We are asking for small non perishable gifts, eg. playing cards, homemade decorations, novels, toothpaste, for both men and women. There are two drop boxes in Greenbank - one at the Chicken Coop, the other in the Greenbank General Store. Items are to be dropped off no later than Dec. 2, so that the Armed Forces can transport donations to the Nestleton news From Page 26 Lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Eisie Bye, Neta Fish and Winnifred Davison. Appreciation was expressed to Grace Bajema. hostess, the lunch group, and to W. Davison for the program, by Elsie Bye. Nestleton United Church On Sunday morning, Nov. 25, at 11:15 a.m. Victor & Kathy Tromans were the friendly greeters at the door, with an average attendance. Ministers Rev. Dale Davis & Kay Heuer shared the service. Kay opened the call to worship; and presented the children's theme with a good story re - "Making Mistakes." The ladies quartet sang "Tell Everybody You Know" with Carol Mairs at the piano. Rev. D. Davis had a fine message based on Scripture from Ezekiel & Mat- thew, read by Kingsley Malcolm. Hymn books "Songs for a Gospel People" were dedicated in memory of friends; and Arthur & Barb Weir & family had six hymn books dedicated in loving memory of Leona Sadler. Vic Tromans & son Drew rec'd the offering. A new hymn *'Teach Me, God, To Wonder" closed the service, followed by Benedication and Three Fold Amen. The Nestleton United Church Sunday School Christmas concert will be held Sunday evening, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Rev. Wm. Fairley conducted the service in Nestleton Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. Joyce Taylor was the organist. Psalm 23 was repeated in unison with Script. from Ezekiel & Matthew. The story for the children was demonstrated by various kinds of fruit; the story of Christ which doesn't appear until you read the New Testament. Rev. Fairley's sermon was on "Living Together in the Community' with the 23rd Psalm as our guide. Holy Com- munion will be dispensed on Sun- day, Dec. 9. Rev. Fairley announced that he had been re-appointed as Interim Moderator to Bally Duff & Nestleton churches by the Presbytery at a recent meeting. To friends in hospital or at home, our best wishes. We think of you so much. May you have better health soon.
