They finished the year 'by allocating their funds, deciding to entertain at the nursing home on November 22 for the residents' Nov. birthdays, arranging lunch for the Bank of Commerce Annual Chirstmas treat for customers Friday December 14 and choosing a date- Dec. 5 for the Annual Mystery Sister Supper at Hank's Pastries. There will not be a regular meeting in Dec.. The Women's Institute will meet Wed. Nov. 21 for Education & Cultural activities: with .con- vener Janis Richardson. The roll = Call will be What food means "Christmas" to you? The motto requires Christmas thoughts. The program will be filled with On the Road Again and an exchange of gifts - preferable home made, if you have time. Yes, the Golden Slippers will soon be on the road again when they plan a week in Florida for 3 engagements. Some members will fly while others travel by car. They sure do have and supply off to Florida good times. They should certain- ly enjoy better weather there. Pat Fulcher, a former member of the "Head" U.C.W. and her husband have moved to Uxbridge until he retires. Then they will move to their chosen home in Gravenhurst to join their disabl- ed daughter and her husband who has employment with the .G.A.. We hope Pat will return to meet Myrtle with her friends at the Mystery Sister Supper. Another nice surprise last week when a phone call was received from a former member of the "Head" U.C.W. - Mrs. Alva Thompson, who was longing for Island news which is not supplied by the Port Perry Star.Now living in Richmond Hill, Alva is doing quite well and getting help to care for her invalid husband, Clare, who returned from hospital a week ago but enjoys getting around in a wheel chair. He seems to have lost several relatives in a fairly short time. news Myrtle United Church was the setting for a beautiful autumn wedding on November 10th. Rev. Fred and Marian Milnes of- ficiated the uniting of Jennifer Muehlbach and John Caudle both of Oshawa. Jennifer is the niece of Bill and Sonja Graham of Myr- tle. Best wishes are extended to the young couple. The annual Turkey supper was well attended by people from all over the area.
