The money is advanced to farmers who wish to store their crops in commercial elevators or as on-farm storage. The max- imum advance has been raised to $250,000.00 per farm. Recently the federal govern- ment has introduced an added benefit; that the first $50,000.00 will be interest-free. The first sales made by a producer will be applied to the interest-free ad- vance.
