The year end tournament for the Youth Lob Ball was held on Sunday, September the 16th. Playoffs to the tournament day started on September the 2nd with Centennial Lanes beating the Lil Gators; The Gate Restaurant defeating Seagrave; and Otto Weber Construction taking the Marsh Hill Jerseys in the first week of playdowns. The second week saw The Gate Restaurant defeated Marsh Hill Jerseys; Seagrave trounced the Lil Gators and Centennial Lanes narrowly defeated Blackstock. This set the stage for the day long Sunday Tournament. The mornings was crisp for the start of the first two games. The 11:00 game was a see- saw battle between Marsh Hill Jerseys and Lil Gaotrs with the Lil Gators coming out with a win. Otto Weber won their 11:00 game against Seagrave. Otto Weber played their third back-to-back game at 1:00, nar- rowly beating the Lil Gators. The - other 1:00 game had Centennial Lanes and The Gate Restaurant in a tightly fought match ending in a draw. The 3:00 game saw the pumped up Lil Gators putting The Gate Restaurant out of the finals with a decisive win. The other diamond saw the Greenbank team coming together against the tough Centennial Lanes but falling to the powerful Centennial Lanes. In the final meeting between Marsh Hill Jerseys and Seagrave for the season, the fun loving Jerseys put together a solid vic- tory over the swift little Seagrave team. Kiddy Kapers pre-school program starts Oct.13 At the Uxbridge Arena Kiddy Kapers, the pre-school pro- gramme of the Pine Ridge Skating School, will start on Fri- day October 5. These classes are designed to teach children age 3 to Kindergarten to skate, while stressing fun and games. The Professional Coaches, Michael Sanderson and Hilary Simpson, use proven methods in their teaching and have had great suc- ~ cess in the past 2 seasons. There are four sessions to choose from - Tues. or Thurs. afternoons 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. or Wed. or Fri. mornings 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.. These is still room in some of the groups although all thie groups are filling up quickly. The Pine Ridge Skating School will include a new programme in its Winter Season at the Uxbridge Arena. A Power Skating session for 6-9 year olds on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.. This is being introduced in response to an increased demand for the Fall Power Skating when applicants had to be turned away. The Morning Power Skating on Wed. 7:15 to 8:15 a.m., and Kid- dy Kapers for Pre-schoolers will continue as in past years. Broomball action underway The Port Perry Broomball League is off and running for another season as all six teams: . saw action Sunday at the Scu- gog Arena. In the first tilt, BandR Electric and Blackstock were knotted at four-each after regu- lations, but the Electric boys put things away in OT as they won 7-4. . Scott Heard and Bill Bridge each had two goals in the winning cause, with singles to Dale Lown, Mike Mitchell and Brian Pomeroy. Mitchell, Dan Taylor and Tim Ashbridge chipped in with three assists. In the third game, Woodys and Emmerson hooked up in a close battle with Woodys win- ningit 3-2. Jim Greg, Neil Woodrow, and Bruce Woodrow got the goals in the winning cause. For Emmerson, it was Bart Wager and Ritch Johnson.
