He was in his 77th year. Storey was the elder son of Cecil E. Beare and his wife, the former Gertrude McCauley. Born in Brantford, July 22, 1913, he moved with his parents to Port Perry at an early age. Here he at- tended Port Perry Public and High Schools, where he was a good student and athlete. Following his graduation from High School in 1932, he spent three years as an apprentice at Lawrence Pharmacy. He proved to be an efficient drug clerk and was especially helpful to older people. Storey then went on to complete his education at the Ontario Col- lege of Pharmacy, Toronto. He obtained his Phm. B. degree in 1937 and took a position with L.G. Nairn's Pharmacy in Toronto for three years, when he was ap- pointed as a sales representative for the Henry K. Wampole Phar- maceutical Co. of Perth. He represented them in the Guelph and Hamilton Districts for ten years. After the death of his father in 1850, Storey returned to Port Perry and entered the family automobile dealership with his brother Bill. It was here that Storey spend the most active and influential years of his life. He was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church, in which he was married in 1939. He was the first President of the Port Perry Chamber of Commerce, Past Ethel Franklin Ethel Vivian Franklin entered into rest peacefully at the Oshawa General Hospital on Tuesday, June 26, 1990. She was in her 65th year. Ethel was born September 27, 1925. She was the daughter of the late George and Vivian Lane. She attended school in both Windsor and Port Perry. As a young girl, Ethel attended the Port Perry Presbyterian Church where she sang in the: choir and taught Sunday School. She married Grant Franklin and they had one son, George. After marriage she attended Manchester United Church and All Colours PORT PERRY STAR enjoyed meeting with the U.C.W. Ethel was a very friendly and hospitable person - always wan- ting friends and family to call for a visit. She was a member of the Eastern Star for many years. Ethel will be sadly missed by her husband Grant, dear mother of George and his wife Jean, lov- ing grandmother of Bradley and Karen. Sister of Evelyn Howard of Elliot Lake, Donald of Oshawa, Stuart of Peterborough, Wes of Port Perry, Verna Williams of Burlington, Roy of Port Perry, Helen Pollard of Port Perry, Gladys Mahaffy of Oshawa, Eril of Port Perry and Ross of Oshawa. Predeceased by Stanley, Bill, Margaret Rose and " Florence. A funeral service was held at the Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry on Thursday, June 28, 1990. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Rev. Stuart McEntyre officiated. The many floral arrangements and memorial donations were gratefully appreciated. Two events stand out during this period. First, the Gold lettered Certificate from the College of Pharmacy in 1987, recognizing fif- ty years as a member of the Col- lege and secondly, when in 1989, the family honoured Storey and Doris with a dinner and reception on their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Dearly loved husband of Doris (nee Murray). Dear father of Ian and his wife, Samantha. Loving grandfather of Morgan, Matthew and Gregory of Aurora. Brother of Bill and his wife Betty of Port Perry. Storey's funeral took place at Wagg-McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry on Monday, July 23 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Stone officiated. Inter- ment was at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. The numerous floral tributes and memorial donations were greatly appreciated by the fami- ly and testify to the high regard Storey held in the community. Music exam The following piano and theory results were obtained in the Feb. & June sessions of examinations here in Port Perry; held in accor- dance with the Western Ont. Con- servatory of Music.
