Rubber ducks flying in for Durham Ducky Race On Thursday, September 13, 10,000 rubber ducks are due to ar- rive from Calgary. The ducks are in town for the Durham Ducky Race, to be held on Sunday, September 16, 1990. The Oshawa & District Real Estate Board is organizing this event as a fundraiser for Rose of Durham, a support group for young parents. Therace takes place on Oshawa Creek, and begins at 1:00 p.m. by the John Street bridge (between Park Road and Centre Street, Mid Town Mall). The ducks will ad- vance (float) down the creek to Cordova Valley Park (end of Cor- dova Road, south of Bloor Street), where a floating boom will _ retrieve all ducks. A special chute will also be in place, to catch the first three ducks - in order. The approximate finishing time is 3:00 p.m. There are three cash prizes, which will go to the corresponding ticket holders for the winning ducks. First prize is $3,000.00; se- cond - $1,500.00 and third - $500. 00.
