It is a girls' team sport played onice filled with excitement, en- thusiasm, and fun, not just for the players, but for the whole family to enjoy. . We invite and welcome all girls between the age of 7-15 to come out and join in the fun that many girls on the Port Perry teams from Port Perry, Seagrave, Blackstock, Burketon, Greenbank etc., are already having. Registration and the Skate and Equipment Exchange for the 1990-91 season is set for this weekend, August 24-26 at the Scugog Arena (see classified sec- tion for specific times). There has been a significant in- crease in the number of players over the last few years and it is anticipated that this season will see the highest enrolment yet. If parents are not able to register their children this weekend, they have the oppor- tunity to pre-register by calling Carol Traynor 985-8531. Although ice-time and overall operating costs have risen, the Ringette Association is pleased to announce that the registration fees will remain the same as last year's fees thanks to our loyal sponsors and successful fund rais- ing functions. The registration fee for one child is $150.00 and $125.00 for Lion's blank Techstar | } each additional child in the fami- ly. Also at registration, the ex- ecutive will request that the in- dividual and team picture fee of $7.00 be prepaid. This will hasten arrangements and delivery of the pictures later in the season. Upon registration, you will receive a "Ringette'"' pocket calendar. The information and dates contained are geared to Ringette for your convenience. If your child is considering join- ing Ringette and you are not aware of the equipment necessary, come to the Scugog Arena for the Skate and Equip- ment Exchange on at the same time as Registration. This is a | great opportunity to equip your | child with excellent out-grown equipment at very reasonable costs. If you require assistance please ask the Registrar. Walton Restoration defeated an undermanned Royal Canadian Legion side 6 to 3. Chris Medford led the offensive game for the Legion while Chris, Dustin, Nicole, and Caitlin held things together. Raglan Welding defeated Van Camp 6 to 1. Raglan's Ashleigh Murphy, Mathew Welts, and Kevin Carter had a number of good offensive plays. The defense was solid due to plays by Dane Gray, Matt Smart, Nicole Bourgeois and Derek G. Van Camp had Jordan Powell, Kenny Lukus, and Patrick Doucette. Techstar was victim to the Lions as they roared to a 3-0 win in a closer game than the score in- dicated. Kyle Churchill made his first appearance in goal and pro- duced a noteworthy performance.
