Coach Allen wishes to thank his helpers: Rick Beare, John Criscione, Randy Hathaway and Ralph Ballard. Bruton's I.D.A. were the second place winners in the tournament. This team, coached by Al Wakeford and Debbie Storms came on strong towards the end of the season with great im- provements being shown by all the girls. Many times the other teams would arrive for a 6:30 game only to realize that Bruton's had been there practising for a while aready. The team sponsored by Dixie Lee sure had a lot of fun this season, even though the girls came up just a little short in many of the games. Rick and Jenny Evans (and the girls) are sure that in another month, this team would surely have been one to contend with! - Greenbank's Bagshaw Elec- tric, coached by Linda Harris, Joanne Gross and Dot Hooker, was a welcome addition to Port Perry's Squirt League. This ex- cellent team led in points through most of the regular season play, but just missed out in the Tournament. Barry's Variety wins girls championship A special thank you to Gordie Ireland - an excellent and faithful umpire, to John Bacon - a parent who was willing to umpire when all other dads ran to their cars and hid (and he did an excellent job as welll), and to Rick Beare: for having the diamonds at S.A. Cawker raked and lined for this big Tournament Day. The 55 Squirt Girls, coaches, helpers and parents realize the work done by the Minor Ball President - Carolyn Best - often goes unrecognized, and wish to thank her for making this season of ball a real happening in Port Perry. Barry's Variety won the Squirt giris division with a 21-10 ine over Briton' s IDA Saturday afternoon.
