Less than two weeks fo the Port Perry Fair The Port Perry Fair is less than two weeks away. There is still time to enter various classes, so get your entry forms in. Any en- try form received after August 27th will be processed but the en- try tags will have to be picked up. To make arrangements, please call Shirley Hunter, Secretary, at 985-3819. Remember that Saturday is Kids Day. There will be face pain- ting, magic shows, decorating gingerbread man contest, dress up contest. Sunda is an Open Western/Hunter Horse Show at 9:30 a.m. and horse races at 1:00 .m. Monday features Cattle Shows, a Car Show at 1:00 p.m. The buildings are open each day with exhibition work being displayed. The midway will be open each day. New this year are the Chariot Races. They will take place on Saturday, September 1 at 1:30. Admission for the fair is: Adults -$4; Children (14 & under) - $2, ex- cept for Saturday, where children are admitted free. If some of you didn't get a holiday this summer or you could use another one, the 'Island in the Son' at Scugog Island's Port Perry Baptist Church is the place to go this week. The ladies have been busy preparing for this week's Vaca- tion Bible School program and there will be lots of surprises. There are classes for Ages 3 to 14 yrs., with crafts to do, games, stories, refreshments and lots of good times while learning about 'Living in the Warmth of God's Love.' New this year is a class for mothers, grandmothers and aun- ties so you can all come. The theme for the ladies study is "Liv- ing under the sane leaky roof' as well as crafts and refreshments. Ladies if your place has a leaky roof, don't just drop your kids off but come on in and learn how to fix it this week! There is no charge for the above mentioned events and everyone is welcome.
