Parents issue appeal in search for daughter The parents of a young Scarborough woman missing since June 19, have issued an appeal to rural property owners in Durham Region to search fields and woods for any clue that might help determine what happened to Elizabeth Bain. In an appeal issued last week to newspapers all over southern Ontario, Ricardo and Lita Bain of Scarborough, said "we are urging local residents and farmers to search their (ru- ral) properties for any traces of Elizabeth so that her disappear- ance can be resolved and the matter put to rest." Foul play is suspected in the disappearance of 23 year old Elizabeth, who was last seen at Scarborough College, where she is a student. She was seen at the college library about 5:30 PM, then her car was found abandoned three days later several blocks away. The car is a 1981 silver 2- door Tercel, with plates 397CNB. It was found on Old Kingston Road, just to the east of Military Trail. The missing woman is 5"2" with dark hair and eyes. At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a floral blouse with buttons, black cotton slacks and black dress shoes. Since June 23, several large scale searches by police and citizen volunteers have been carried out in the Steeles Ave. and Rouge Valley area of Scarborough. Posters with Elizabeth's photo and photo of her car, have been put up all over Metro and surrounding York and Durham Regions. Her parents say that since the five week search for their daughter has turned up no trac- es, the search must be expand- ed to include the rural areas to the north and east of Toronto. Stolen were: 3 Personal Com- puters, Printers, a dictaphone, a calculator, a JVC Stereo Cassette Player, an RCA 20" colour TV, a Roland synthesizer, 4 Roland Microphones, Cables, Manuals and a substantial amount of cash, including a safe.
