Pot luck at hall by Mrs. Earl Reader So, Tuesday ends another July, true to its nature, hot, hot. Thus ends the holiday month for Rev. Lynne Belfry-Graham at the Island United. From here we begin to enjoy and regret our last two months with her. To show ap- preciation to her and her family a pot luck dinner is being plann- ed for Fri. Sept. 21st at the Com- munity Hall at 6:30 p.m. So please mark this date on your calendar. Now that August is fast ap- proaching we plan for several ac- tivities at the Island. Mnited. First, you must plan order your tickets for the annual chicken barbecue at the Island United Church, Sat., Aug. 11. Bonnie Ger- row 985-7426 will be waiting for your call. Already plans are being made for the following morning Aug. 13 when all the doors at the Island United will be open to children 3 to 12 years for the annual week of Bible School with its learning ex- periences, social time and fun. There will also be an adult Bible study. So parents who are not helping may stay right there and study together. This sounds like a good way to continue your sum- mer vacation. We were pleased to see Madeline Cawker at church again after treatment in hospital. At this time we'd like to express a word of appreciation for the Community work done by Mrs. Joan Aldred, as a member of the United Church choir, the choir - person of Session in her church, as Editor of the interesting mon- thly paper or little magazine published each month at the Com- munity Nursing Home, as well as many other services in the community.
