Although the weather was uncertain; plans went well and a delicious meal was enjoyed by all. Those present for the occasion were: Jim and Patricia Kidd and Shawn, Grant and Merna Caw- ker, Cathy and Chris of Oshawa, Merle and Katherine Duffy of Harrowsmith, Sam and Mabel Cawker of Nestle- ton, and Jamie and Joan Kidd and the host and hostess of Co- bourg. Jamie Kidd was the offi- cial "barbecue chef' and de- serves a "big pat on the back" for his excellent culinary ef- forts! The meal proved very tempting to everyone present! A very pleasant occasion! and a casually relaxed atmosphere! Ontario North & Ontario South Meet. The Districts of Ontario North and Ontario South Wom- en's Institutes, held their annu- al picnicon Tuesday, July 10, at Elgin Park, Uxbridge, with a good attendance for this festive occasion. President Doreen Brethour chaired the briefbusi- ness meeting; assisted by secre- tary-treasurer Helen Walton. The new resides for next year will be Helen McKean. Plans were discussed for the Port Perry Fair Booth and response was good. The program consisted of contests; relays races; read- ings, etc., and a fine time was had by all. Supper with all the delightful food was enjoyed to the utmost; a friendly day for all! Looking forward to next year. AWarm Welcome A very warm welcome to Christina Henderson of Edin- burgh, Scotland, who arrived on Saturday, to spend some time with her daughter Chris & Cliff Davis, Scott & Carle of Hyde House, Scugog Point Road; we're delighted to have herback! Family News Neta Fish & Yvonne Holland, Blackstock, attended the deco- ration service at the Sunder- land Cemetery on Sunday af- ternoon; where Grahame Fish isresting. AES 2 - ' od i 2 2 {: N i dishes were well cooked and seasoned to perfection; nicely served; a good place to cele- brate with a menu to suit every taste. On the way back to Dun- troon; we had a tour, and saw the United Church where sister Norma is the organist. While there she treated us to a de- lightful organ recital; then back to her home for a visit and a cup of tea, before returning home. A day to remember! Community Church Caesarea On Sunday, July 22nd, the people of Caesarea Church as- sembled for worship with a large congregation. Mr. Alex Elliott of Uxbridge, was in charge of the service; taking his text from John 3: 16 and Ro- mans 8: 25-39. Quote: God loves us the way we are; uncondition- ally; He can change our lives for us. From Matthew: II 28-30- God will take our problems; care for us, in good or troubled times. An excellent message: Kathleen Watts played for the service. Next Sunday, a t speaker from Uxbridge Apos- tolic Church. Everyone wel- come. Nestleton United Greeters at the door were Jean & Arnold Williams. An av- erage attendance with all mem- bers seated near the front of the church. Rev. Dale Davis pre- sented thoughts for all re- "Hope and Expectation". True hope is in the glimmer of God coming to work in our lives. The children's theme-illustrated with a flashlight-he brought out-we won't see God; but we can see the effect he has on the Regatta on Aug. 4 people around us. Erin Mal- colm & Alison Malcolm read the lesson from Romans, and Mat- thew, Organist-Gwen Malcolm. A solo by Jan Mac Kenzie en- titled, "Speak His Name" ac- companied by Rev. Dale Davis on the piano. Offering rec'd by Arnold & and Anita Davis. Ser- vice closed with Benediction and Three Fold Amen. Regatta News The Lake Scugog Regatta Committee is very fortunate to have Mayor Howard Hall and Councillor Glenn Malcolm present, to officially open the Regatta, on Saturday, August 4th, at Putsey Park; after the parade. Keep in mind the following: Comin up hig Saturday, Jul 28, will the Annual Golf Tournament at Sunnybrae Golf Club, Port Perry.
