Presenting the cheque to hospital representative Debble McGarry, is club mem- ber Don Arnold. Tony Oshawa-Whitby Fair The Oshawa-Whitby Fair kicks off July 19 and runs through until Sunday, July 22. The Fairgrounds are locat- ed on Garrard Road North in Whitby, and 1990 marks the 13 year the Fair has been held in this location. Organizers have lined up a wide range of events that will interest all ages and all mem- bers of the family. One new event is the "Mud Bog." Come and watch the 4X4's and the flashy street legals push their way through the bog. There are three nights of demolition derby (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) with the championship heats on Sunday at 2:00 PM. There will be a car show, mutt show, hot air balloon rides, midway, petting zoo for the youngsters, and of course all kinds of animal shows. The 67-acre Fairgrounds are on Garrard Road, just north of Conlin (Durham College Rd.) Fun at day camp After a successful week, we have planned yet another action packed week of games and crafts during our Holiday Theme Week. On Monday we will be celebrating Easter - children will be decorating cookies and hunting for eggs. Thursday is a Scary Day at Camp as the children are dress- ed up in their Halloween costumes to enjoy this special holiday. As you can see a lot of fun is planned for next week. This week has something special in store for all ages. Animals and Nutrition are this weeks themes. Children will be creating their favourite animals and eating a healthy snack. We hope to see you all at the parks next week. See you Soon... Melissa, Nicki, Heather Sport camp We had a fantastic week at Sports Camp. We sure had an ex- cellent bunch of athletes that join- ed us for the week. Junior Athletes of the week were Ashlea Jones, and Matthew McMaster. Senior Athletes were Angelo DiLisi and Andrew Jacobson. We enjoyed many sports last week. Some of the favourites were, soccer, baseball and dodgeball. Last Friday campers were able to spend the afternoon rollerskating followed by wat- ching the Skateboard show at the lakefront. A special thanks goes to Kevin Pearce for helping out each morning at Sports Camp. Another exciting week of Sports Camp ip stating! We wil] enjoy an energetic schedule filled with such sports as: floor hockey, aerobics, swimming, baseball, basketball and rollerskating.
