Our heartfelt sympathy to husband Grant, son George and wife Jean, and the family. Also, the sisters and brothers of Ethel, their belov- ed sister. Ethel will be missed by so many, a very lovely person, well liked by all who knew her! Community Church Caesarea An average congregation for the Community Church on Sun- day, July 8, 11 a.m. Philip War- burton ot 'toronto, was tne visiting speaker. He based his message on Verse 5 of Psalm 139. God deals with our past and en- courages us to trust Him for the future, while living in the present, under the guidance of God. Karen Buchanan read the Scripture and Kathleen Watts played the organ assisted by Dorothy Warburton on the piano. No services at the Nestleton Presbyterian Church during July. The Services will resume in August. Family News Robert and Carol Mairs of Nestleton, were guests at the wed- ding of her cousin, Howard Bailey of Blackstock, and Julie Wright of Kippen, on Saturday, June 30. Lawrence & Gwen Malcolm of Nestleton, were guests of Howard and Eileen Malcolm at their cot- tage at View Lake, on Saturday evening, enjoying a barbecue with friends. Barbara Evans and Ross, Bar- bara and David Simmonds at- tended a 55 wedding anniversary of Earle and Muriel Parrott in Lindsay recently. Several from the community at- tended the Ontario County Twilight meeting and barbecue at the O'Conners farm in Pickering last Friday evening. Laurence Evans had Sunday lunch with Ross and Barb Evans. Laurence's wife Olive has return- ed safe and sound on Wednesday evening from her trip to India and Indionisia. } John and Florence Wiersma of Blythe, Florence's sister and her husband from Holland were sup- per guests on Sunday with Ross and Barb Evans. Cathy and Marvin Stevenson's son James is visiting with his un- cle in Haliburton. Epsom Choir sang at Glen Ma- jor on Sunday and after the ser- vice enjoyed refreshments at the home of Clara and Jim Jones. Bill and Melba McKays two granddaughters Megan McKay and Kristen Pittman were visiting at their home for a couple of days. Paul andShirley Baster attend- ed a birthday party for Peter Ber- nhardt in Uxbridge on Sunday afternoon. Earl and Elizabeth Taylor were visiting their daughter Ruth and her husband John Reed at Sun- dridge on Sunday. All the Ashton family gathered at the home of Faye and Keith Ashton on Sunday afternoon to en- joy a family shower for Sandra Ashton of Oakwood. Don & Stella Asling were lunch guests with Faye and Keith and also guests at the shower. Several from the community honoured former neighbour Henry Skerratt by attending his birthday party. Marlene and Ian Archibald and family called on her parents Earl and Marie Wilson on Sunday. Bill and Velma Huggins of Orillia called on Jean Jeffery on Sunday. Betty and Norm Tapscott have arrived home after a two week vacation. They were at Golden Valiey on Cape Breton Island to hear their son's farewell sermon to his congregation on Sunday. Then on Monday evening they at- tended a farewell party given by Tuesday evening, June 26, along with many other students, ter- minating a successful and fulfill- ing year. Now! - anticipating high school; the next step! We do ex- tend our warmth and whatever support we can give, to impress the parisoners to John. Tuesday was moving day. John is now installed in the Edgewood United Church in Halifax. So Norm and Betty attended John's first service in his new charge before returning home. The Watsons also had birthdays to remember on Sunday. Andrew and his family of Guelph arrived for the day. Elva and Walter Kerry and his sister Wilda Meyers of Oshawa went to Ravenna to a church ser- vice at Rockhaven Church and at- tended a family picnic afterwards. Ross and Barbara Evans call- ed on Mr. and Mrs. Lunney, their former neighbours, now living in Port Perry. . Elden and Anita Evans were visiting in Brockville over the weekend. Tractor/Truck Pull The annual Tractor and Truck Pull proved once again to be suc- cesful with a fine assortment of pulling vehicles and large crowds enjoying the excitement. Jillian and John Winchester of Ashburton, New Zealand have been staying with Dalton and Kathleen Dorrell and visiting many points of interest in Southern Ontario. Helen and Stuart Dorrell of Charlton in Nor- thern Ontario have been in the area as well and touring with the group. Lisa Dorrell stayed with the Winchester family while she worked in New Zealand. Dalton and Kathleen visited John and Jillian on their recent trip to New Zealand. On Sunday afternoon and even- ing Eileen and Harold McLaughlin hosted a family gathering when over (fifty descendents of John and Ann (Nerney House Antiques and Reproductions 650 SCUGOG ST. PORT PERRY 985-3795 proved to be success Toms enjoyed their family picnic. Two bridal showers were held for Melody Dorrell and Debbie Van- Camp in honour of their upcom- ing marriages. Each girl receiv- ed many beautiful gifts and good wishes. - If you visit H&M Wright Feed Store you see many smiles that is very understandable as Harold and Melanie Wright have become parents of a baby son, Aaron Donald. Congratulations to you all. Peggy and Ralph Larmer hosted a family gathering on Sun- day in honour of Peggy's mother Mrs. Rena Snowden's nintieth bir- thday.
