Friday at 8 p.m. there will be a euchre in Utica Hall. On Saturday evening starting at 5:30 p.m. there will be a pot-luck picnic and barbeque at the home of Marvin & Cathy Stevenson to say farewell to the Denzil Irving family who are moving to Sault Ste. On Sunday, July 8, there will be an 80th birthday celebration in Manchester Hall from 14 p.m. for a former Utica resident, Mr. Henry Skerratt and I am sure he would be delighted to see former neighbours on this occasion. Helen McKean travelled by train to Petoskey, Michigan, to at- tend a surprise 50th birthday par- ty for her son Douglas. He is the "Fire Cheif"' of Deer Park Station there. Over 100 guests enjoyed the celebration. She also visited her granddaughter Michelle Parker who is on the Fire Department in Traverse City. On the way home she visited with daughter Dale & Ken Ellison & family in Thamesville. Travelling by train is the way to go these days!!! The Day Care Center held a barbeque picnic and graduation ceremony on Thursday with many parents and friends attending. The Aked family held their an- nual Canada Day celebrations on Sunday with a barbeque, lots of games, an evening camp fire and a glorious display of fireworks. Mrs. Fielding was a Sunday supper guest with son Frank and his family in Port Perry. Bill Fielding and Donna Wakeford of Oshawa were Monday guests with rene. chairs for Museum from Greenbank. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Hill on the birth of a son, Tyler, another grandson for Mr. and Mrs. Erston Coulter and first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hill. News next week 985-2924 or 852-6993. Sunderland ° man killed Ld @ in accident A 51-year old Brock Town- ship man died early Saturday morning in a single vehicle acci- dent on Durham Road 23. Regional Police say Rich- ard Clayton Dingman of Lot 5, Concession 9, Sunderland, was northbound on Regional Road 23, a mile south of Regional Road 10. His vehicle left the road and struck a culvert. The victim, who died in- stantly, was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash which took place at 4:00 AM.
