See you on the courts! Next game July 4 The Port Perry Pee Wee Mo- Jacks improved their record over the past two weeks of play in the York-Durham Softball League. Last Tuesday night, Chad Kearns got strong offensive sup- port and final out help from Billy Zaparanuik to pick up the first win of the season, 29-10 over Bolton. Chad struck out 7 and allowed 5 hits. Billy fanned the one batter he faced. : Every player scored at least one run, with Billy, Brent Harper, and Joe Broadworth each hitting home runs. Brent, Chad, Neil Mueller and Dave Bourgeois had two hits each, while Jake Waz- nicki and Paul Linton and one each. Wednesday night at home the story was a little different. Although the Mojacks played one of their better games, a powerful Thornhill club went home 16-1 winners. Billy pitched the first 5 innings, striking out 2 and was touched for 15 runs on 15 hits by some big, aggressive hitters. Chad finished up with one K and . allowed 1 run on 1 hit over the final 2 innings. Three Thornhill pitchers held Port to 5 hits in the game. Dave, Jake, Joe, Steve Gilbert, and Col- in Meijerink each stroked a single. Paul Linton's bases-loaded walk allowed Colin to score the 2.7 only run. Galley rallies to win "B" division In the B championship, the Galley Gators staged a late rally to overcome an early defi- cit and defeat the Auto Glass Sting Rays 8-7. At left is Dave Dowson of the Firefighters with Fred Moffatt, Gators rep; and Terry Rose and Glenn Evans of the Sting Rays. This week the MoJacks plaved home-and-home with Aurora, picking up a win and a tie. At home, Chad came up with ms strongest pitching effort of the season as he scattered 7 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 13. Port went ahead early on Dave's double and Joe's single, then were up 5-0 into the fifth. Aurora bunched 2 hits and an er- ror to close to 5-3, then did it again in the seventh to take a 6-5 lead. In the home hall of the inning Joe MolJacks igre ve lined his second homer of the year to salvage the tie. . In the return engagement in- Aurora, Billy took his turn at holding the fort, limiting the home team to 5 hits as Port took an 8-4 lead after 3 innings. MoJacks fell behind 9-8 as Aurora batted around in the fourth, including a grand slam. Chad relieved in the fifth and, on the strength of 6 more Port runs, held Aurora to 1 run over the final 2 innings to help seal a 14-10 MoJack win. Billy also contributed 3 hits to the attack, while Joe, Dave, Paul, and Chad had 2 each. The MoJacks will now have a rest for about 10 days until they host Bolton on July 4. He hit 2 for 2 bringing in both runs. Trevor MacSween did a super job at back catch tagging two out at the plate. The Cowboy's all star for the night was Adam Davidson with a beautiful home run and 7 RBI's. Cameron Cook and Jamie Irvine both did a great job on the mound while Michael Heasman played super on the infield.
