p-- eS Congratulations to the Port Perry folks on the success of Par- ticipaction Challenge Day this past week; yours truly was en- thused and walked smartly for 30 minutes, down in this "neck of the woods" BUT being busy, forgot to phone it in. To me the magic of walking is the ideal exercise; a great deal of satisfaction in a brisk walk; physical exertion; everyone knows of some form of activity which gives pleasure and a satisfying feeling; even when pushed to the point of fatigue. 90th Anniversary Celebration Congratulations to the Bowmanville Women's Institute, who celebrated their 90th on Thursday, June 7, in grand style! We are pleased to report that Geo. Samells has returned to his home but has to observe little ex- ertion for the 1st week. This will be difficult for George who loves to be busy. It is with sympathy to various families at the foot of the Island that we report the passing of a well known resident, Caswell Edgar. It is with sadness, we recall our associations with the "Head" U.C.W. member Lenore Blueman who has quietly spent the last 3 years, in Hospital, surviving each day as it comes but apparently without suffering. The '""Head" U.C.W. will serve the Hospital Tuck Shop the week of the 25th. Cowboys victorious This game, between Cowboy and B&R Electric was very close with the teams exchanging the lead.
