Major Event in The Life of Nestleton Sunday School David & Joanna Malcolm were the genial greeters at the door for the Nestleton United Church Sun- day School Anniversary Service, June3, 11:15a.m. ... an important day in the life of the children and those in charge. The versatile, talented superintendent Chris Davis was at the helm. Pianists Betty Headon & Carol Mairs per- formed well for the young folk, while Chris Davis & Kay Notman led the singing. The whole service from start to finish was very good indeed. Excellent readers (hear- ing every word) and good sing- ing; a credit to Nestleton United Church Sunday School! The con- gregation showed their approval before closing with hearty applause. The choir loft and sanctuary were effectively decorated with balloons, floral arrangements, and in the centre a sign "Happy Anniversary." We commend all who had a part in the service; a special day! Our thanks to the dedicated superintendent Chris and her teaching staff. : After closing, a delightful pot luck luncheon was enjoyed at the home of Chris Davis. After the tempting meal, games were played and swimming was a highlight. Prizes were given out ... bringing to a close another year in the life of Nestleton S. School. ~ Community Church Caesarea An average attendance for the Caesarea Church on Sunday mor- ning, June 3 at 11 a.m. The guest speaker was Pastor Gordon B. Parks of Peterborough. The Scripture reading Psalm 145. Larry Forsyth led in the singing of some choruses, playing his guitar, and Kathleen Watts played the drgan for the hymns. The theme for the service "The Significance of the Lord's Table" - a meaningful message. Commu- nion Service stems from Jesus' command to eat the Bread and Drink the Cup; representing Christ as the Lamb of Sacrifice for our sins. Next Sunday, June 10th, the speaker will be Pastor David Morris, President of the Apostolic Church in Canada. Visitations Sam & Mabel Cawker, Scugog Point Rd., called on Russell & Ed- da Bowman of St. Christopher, on Sat. and found Edda home from Hospital and feeling some better. The Sam Cawkers were pleas- ed to have grandson Bryan Cawker of Kitchener overnight this past Saturday, and during the evening Tom & Kathleen Cawker of Manchester dropped in for a visit. Very glad to see Kathleen doing well after recent surgery in Oshawa Hospital. A delicious dinner was enjoyed at the home of Alan & Eleanor Cawker on Thursday evening this past week. Jazzmerize won two silver medals at MusicFest held in Winnipeg in May. The group won a silver medal in the jazz class and another sil- ver in the combination class. Two individuals from Jazz- merize were also recognized by the Judges. Jason Van Veghel and Barb Brooks won outstand- ing awards. a Jazzmerize qualified for Mu- sicFest after an excellent show- ing at the Ontario Vocal Festi- val.
