Branch A successful auction followed the regular meeting of Nestleton Branch; held at the Nestleton Community Centre at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. With Rika Wygerde the able auctioneer; assisted by Grace Bajema, the many articles donated; home baking; plants and flowers: brought a goodly sum for the treasury. Barb Weir & Neta Fish took care of the proceeds. This was the first meeting of the W.I. year; with Rika Wygerde, president, and Neta Fish in her new office as secretary - treasurer. Gwen Malcolm played for the Ode and the Collect was repeated. A warm welcome was voiced by Rika to several visitors and members who have been on holiday. After the minutes were approv- ed, and treasurer's statement given, the correspondence was read. Members were advised of Course choices, and a bulletin was read re - current events. Dale Davis extended a cordial welcome to the Woodwind Choir of the Cartwright High School Band and their conductor, John Beirness. After hearing their selections; we thank the choir for their fine gift of music. Warm applause greeted them at the close. The minister's message on "Christianity's GST "' and the S. Family News Neta Fish, Calvin & Yvonne Holland, Blackstockm, attended the lovely bridal shower held at Omemee Comminity Centre, hosted by an aunt; for Neta"s grandson Calvin Gordon, and bride to be Leanna Whittaker, of Stroud, Ontario. The young couple received many beautiful gifts; and Leanna expressed her warmest appreciation to all pre- sent. A tempting lunch was en- joyed with sandwiches, squares and a gorgeous cake was cut and served. Tea & coffee topped off the refreshments. The wedding will take place in Barrie, on June 30th.
