This is the first year the pro- gram has been held at the high school. According to Auto Shop teacher, Roger Harrison he or- ganized this program at the school he taught at in Oshawa. He added that it went over very well there, so he had it im- plemented into the Port Perry course. The students performed safety checks on all parts of the vehicles. Among the inspection were parts such as: brakes, en- gine oil, fluid levels, steering, tires, transmission, and ex- haust. After the inspection, the owners were informed of what was in good working condition on their cars, and what the owner should have fixed, or looked at by a mechanic. According to Mr. Harrison, two seniors opted to bring their cars back and allow the stu- dents to do a few repair jobs. They did an oil change on one vehicle, and an engine mountin another.
