22 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, May 1, 1990 The Cartwright High School Wind Ensemble is $13,000 clos- er to its fundraising goal after Thursday evenings Music Feast. a The evening was presented by the parents, teachers and members of the band, for the ex- citing, yet unexpected task of raising sufficient funds to send the Senior Wind Ensemble to Musicfest Canada in Winnipeg. One hundred and fifty-four people enjoyed the evening which included a dinner, raffle, silent auction and dancing. There were 28 auction items, and 84 raffle. prizes. Many of the auction items went for high prices, such as: the limited edi- tion wildlife paintings, hand- knit sweaters, and hand-carved decoys which went to the high- est bid of $350. Music Feast had a large number of individuals, and or- ganizations donate their time and products. A full list of these will be listed in'a future edition of the Port Perry Star. The Cartwright Wind Ensemble entertained guests at last Thursday night's Music Feast. The evening consisted of dinner, a raffle, dancing, and a silent auction to' raise funds for the band's trip to Musicfest Canada. See story for more detalis.
