Last week I welcomed our new neighbours to the community and this week I'll add a little more in- formation. They are George and Joanne Richardson and son and come to our community from Ballantrae. Mr. Richardson is a landscape artist and after reading some news clippings on him and his work, I know that meeting him would interest many of us. Utica is fortunate to have at least two artists in our community now. Our condolences to the family of Mrs. Olive McCartney in their bereavement. Mrs. McCartney passed away last Wednesday very suddenly at her home east of the village. Finance Minister Michael Wilson, accompanied by MP Rene Soetens and Ross Stevenson visited Utica Farm Equipment on Friday defending the Govern- ment's proposed GST. I'm sure there were many questions to be answered as this is a very hot issue at this time. Wilfred and Alice Warner of Niagara Falls have been spending a few days visiting with their son John and Suzanne Warner. It's that time of the year once more when I ask that you submit your items to me before Monday morning.
