A good crowd attended the Sunrise Easter morning service held at the farm of Roy and Lin- da Bradburn conducted by Rev. D. Davis. A fine congregation also attended the regular Sunday mor- ning service at 10:00 a.m. when Rev. D. Davis delivered an ex- cellent sermon "Up and Gone - Waiting for You" The Senior Choir sang Our God Reigns and Glenn Larmer sang a fine solo "I've just Seen Jesus." Terry and Kelly Gatchell and daughter Sarah have moved from their home on Mason Street to their new home, the former Roy Corden home on Scugog Street. Steve Hamlin and Wendy Gray of Port Perry have moved into the _ Gatchell home. Welcome to Steve and Wendy. Harold and Jean Kyte have returned home from their Florida vacation. Easter Sunday dinner guests of Ralph and Peggy Larmer were Peggy's mother Mrs. Eber Snowden of Whitby, Sharon Goulding, Heather and Darryl, Dave and Ingrid Larmer, Robert and Steven, John Larmer, Ux- bridge, Paul Larmer and Marg Deborski of Guelph. Edith and Roy McLaughlin entertained their family for Easter. Their guests were David and Donna Kyte, Karen, Jason, Susan and Steven, Denis and Jo McLaughlin, Aaron and Sean of Whitby, Deb and Ron Vice, Emi- ly, Rachael and Sean of Enniskillen. Gerald and I are looking especially happy these days due to the arrival of our first grand- child - Courtney Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Peter Peeters baby daughter. The annual Blackstock Curling Club Banquet and Dance was held on Saturday evening at the Nestleton Hall with approximate- ly seventy curlers and their friends attending. Dale Van- Camp, Harvey Graham a delicious din- ner prepared and served by Dorothy Lee was enjoyed. The business meeting following the dinner included a favourable financial report. Tracy Vernest reviewed a successful Ladies League and announced that the winners were Carol Gray, Helen Green and Marie James. Ron Vice pointed out that the Men's league had a very com- petitive curling season. Merlin Suggitt presented the Suggitt Trophy to schedule winners Ron Vice, Brian Johnston, Lawrence McLaughlin and David Petrie. Se- cond place went to Dale Van- Camp, Merlin Suggitt, Tom James and Dave Petrie while Merrill VanCamp, Brian Johnston, Grant McLaughlin and Neil Taylor took third place. Jack Massie reviewed the suc- cessful Mixed League and an- nounced the winners as Doug and Karen Kadowaki, Church and Marg Daub. Second place was won by Doug and Karen Kadowaki, Brian and Wanda Craig while Harvey and Joan Graham, Jill and Nicole Leach took third. The following executive was chosen for next season - President - Dale VanCamp; Vice President - Ron Vice; Secretary - Joyce Kel- ly; Treasurer - Gerald Kelly, Mixed League - Jack and Marsha Massie, John and Linda Green, Men's League - David Vernest. A letter requesting support for the Blackstock Arena Building Committee's meeting with the Council on April 23 was read. Any person planning to support this group please be at Port Perry before 7 p.m. April 23. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing to music of Dennis Franssen. Anyone wishing to join the curlers next season is invited to contact any member of the Executive. Calvin and Florence McKee are also looking very proud as they became first time grandparents on Sunday with the arrival of a baby boy born to Kelly and Bob Mulligan. Welcome to the club.
