The Fourth Port Perry or "Island" Brownies were delighted to have Jim Wills, President of the Port Perry Cyclist's Club visit them on April 2. Jim brought his bicycle and taught the girls the basics of bicycle upkeep, size and safety. With Spring upon us more bicycles will be on the streets and roads, and it's imperative everyone by aware of them, The First Port Perry Pathfinders were busy collecting and packaging clothing at the Kinsmen Hall 'depot' last Wednesday evening. All the clothing (and there was lots of it) was donated for the Jamaican Relief Fund. The Pathfinders sincerely thank Theresa Wood for delivering all the clothing to Guiding Headquarters at 50 Mer- ton Street, Toronto. Without volunteers in this Movement our programs and projects simply wouldn't be met, so a big thanks to everyone involved in this wor- thy event. One of the Sports and Fitness Challenges of the Pathfinder pro- gram is to plan and lead a fitness break to music at a meeting so .... Barb Carnegie was asked to lead BD) OF DURHAM THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY the girls in a half hour of aerobic exercise at their April 4th meeting. Pathfinders and leaders followed along with Barb enjoying a mini workout. Perhaps these girls could challenge other Guiding companies in neighbor- ing communities on Participation Day. This is just a thought as this column is being written! The Fourth Port Perry Guides are looking forward to a tour of the Durham Regional Police Sta- tion in Oshawa as they work towards their Law Awareness badge. This tour is planned for the end of this month. A ceremony for guides receiv- ing their All Round Cord is set for Sunday, April 20th at Port Perry United Church. More details will be published later. Girl Guides of Canada - Guides du Canada - wants to see a new look on the 1991 Cookie Button and are appealing to all it's hundreds of members to take part in a cookie button design contest. The rules are 1. it must be a circular design of a two inch diameter; 2. two colors only - one background and one design; 3. and submit your design to your District Cookie Adviser before April 17, 1990. Get creative, take part in this contest and good luck with your design.
