Since last Wednesday the Pineridge Tweens Ringette girls have been dreaming of this sport 24 hours a day, passing and shooting the ring in their sleep and trying to outsmart the refs in their wildest dreams! They outplayed Oshawa all the way and came up with a 6-1 win. They just couldn't get the jets turned on and lost 3-2. The Pineridge girls knew the Port Novices, Petites and Juniors were in contention for winning medals and they were determined to bring home the Bronze -- and that's exactly what they did, with only a one goal lead. The score ended up Port Perry 4, Ajax 3. Leea Kinnunen gave us three goals and Vicki Stainton, one goal. Assists were made by Leea, Vicki, Deanna and Marci... When the girls were presented with the Bronze medallions, it was an- nounced by the Regional Con- venors that the 'Port Perry Tweens had also won the Sport- smanship Award in their division! So, at the end of the season, the team finished third place and won- the Sportsmanship Award at the Regionals and were the Cham- pions of the Tween C Minor Ringette League. The girls THANK Bob Jamieson and Dave Ballingall of Pineridge Sports for sponsoring the team and to the following people, "THANK YOU" for coaching the girls, namely; Dan Lally, a great coach; Rick Webb, Assistant Coach; Doug Dempsey, Trainer, and Nancy Coyne, Manager.
