Under the musical direc- tion of Agnes Grossman, the twenty-member ensemble has been performing acclaimed recitals in increasing numbers and locations over the past several years. The Players' Port Perry engagement will feature Concert- master Martin Foster as guest conductor. Debuting at Carnegie Hall in 1973, Mr. Foster held the position of first violin with the American String Quartet until 1980. Since then, he has toured North and South America as a member of the Foster-Brassard Duo, as a founding member of Trio Haydn de Montreal, and as a soloist with the McGill Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Foster is also cur- rently Professor of violin and chamber music at the Universite de Montreal as well as a regular performer with the Chamber Players of Toronto.
