Sympathy is ex- tended to Bruce's family and to his sisters and other relatives. The family was remembering the passing of their mother Jean Just a year ago. Funeral service will be in the United Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Marion Hodge is recovering at home following surgery in the Bowmanville Hospital. Get well soon. Leslie Taylor is still not very well. He is at home following surgery some time ago. I am sure he would appreciate a card or let- ter from you. The Blackstock Skating Club will be holding its annual Ice Car- nival on Sunday, March 25 begin- ning at 2 p.m., at the Blackstock Arena. The theme of the carnival is "Toyland in Ice." Everyone is welcome. Many of our travelling folk have returned from Southern holidays. Shirley Smith has returned from an extended stay in Barbados. Five families enjoyed a skiing trip to Vermont - Brian and Carolyn Morton, Sharon and George Wilson, Ted and Marg Kemp, Tallya and Denzil Moore, Don and Louise Swain and families. Randy and Gail Johns and family enjoyed the sunny weather - of Florida. Linda and Roy Bradburn, Mat- thew and Amanda spent a week in Barbados. Kathy and Neil McLaughlin and family and Jean Mahaffy spent two weeks in Florida. They en- joyed visiting Bill and Ruth Marconi. Julie Byers spent the weekend visiting her friend Esther Kelly in Kingston. Blackstock Lioness Club: The March meeting was held at the home of Lioness Evelyn Trapp. The meeting was called to order by President Lioness Joan Bayley with the Lioness Prayer. Minutes of the February meeting was read by Lioness Gloria Smuck and the financial report was presented by Lioness Carol Mairs. Once again the Lioness Club will sponsor a Cartwright Minor Ball team for the coming season. Plans are underway for the an- nual Lobsterfest and Steak Din- ner to be held at the Recreation Center on Saturday, June 9, 1990. There will be dancing to a popular disc jockey following the dinner. Tickets will be advanced sale basis only. For information call Joan at 986-5335. The Curling Club Executive met at the home Gerald Kelly on Thursday evening. Plans were made for the Awards banquet and dance which will be held at Nestleton Hall on Saturday April 14. All curlers, past and present as well as anyone interested in a pleasant evening is invited to get tickets from any member of the Executive as soon as possible. Ashleigh was sleeping and I was busy doing things around the house, looked up at the clock and it was 12:40. I don't think she has ever slept that long before and I knew for sure it was to late to get it in. Sorry folks. Well it's that time again, time to turn in the skates for the ball glove. Minor ball Registration will" be held-at the Seagrave church in the basement on Friday March 23, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday March 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. The children will be sized for their sweaters at this time. Also please bring your OHIP number with your. The cost this year is $20.00 per child or the family rate of $50.00. Congratulations to many Seagrave teens who placed in the Science Fair at Port Perry High School. Coming first in the Biological Division was our son Bill Sandiford with his partner Suzie Allin. Coming 2nd in the Physical Science Division was Mark Jansen and his partner An- drew Frew. Receiving honourable mention were Kylie Kearns and Jen Tingle, Pete King and Mike Sluggit and Laurie Busher and Nikki Addison. Way to go everyone. Saturday night was a joyous evening for the Simpson family as Lea-Anne Simpson and her fiance William Clark enjoyed a pre- wedding party hosted by her parents, Don and Lorna Simpson in Robinglade Estates. All the ushers and bridesmaids joined in the festivities, some coming from as far as Keswick, Toronto and of course Seagrave. Le4-Anne and William will be married in the Town of Sharon on June 2. Con- gratulations and best wishes to you both for a wonderful mar- riage and continued life together. Sure hope her Dad, Don Simp- son is feeling better these days. Don hasn't been feeling well for some time now, but is now back to work and hopefully on the road to recovery.
