On Feb. 21 the kindergarten classes celebrated the 100th day of classes. They were very proud to show and tell about their collec- tion of 100 things. The grade 5 students enjoyed a trip to Claremont Conservation Area. Topic: Forest Management and Man's Impact on Environ- ment. There were new challenges for all, sleeping overnight, skiing for the first time, hiking at night, using a cross-cut saio, co- operating with unfamiliar group members. Epsom children enjoyed a one day elective programme on Feb. 8. 42 children went downhill ski- ing at Dagmar, the rest of the pupils went skating in the morn- ing, then bowling in the afternoon - a good time was had by all. Feb. 19 grades 4 and 5 visited the Nonquon and did two special programmes entitled 'How Animals Survive in Winter and NC Jacob LaRose, Todd Parry and Conrad Spunde of the Port Perry Shodokal Judo Club competed In a tournament held Feb. 11 in Oshawa and came home with three medals. Todd and Conrad took first place in their divisions, while Ja- cob earned himself a silver. There were over 100 competi- tors at this tournament. CW.S.
