PPHS girls win bronze at LOSSA The Port Perry Girl's Curling team travelled to Beaverton last Tuesday to compete in the LOSSA(Lake Ontario Secon- dary School Association) cham- pionships, and brought home the bronze medal. In their first game they met up with a team from Brock, and although they started off well, they lost momentum after the break, and lost the match to the Brock team. In their next game the girls met up with long-time rivals from O'Neill Collegiate High School from Oshawa. The O'Neill team were the defend- ing LOSSA champions. The Port girls defeated the O'Neill squad to claim the bronze medal. The Port team consisted of Tania Fielding, Allie Holtby, Magan Thompson, and Suzie in. hot, delicious Campbell's soup between Feb. 19-Mar. 4 and your local Dixie Lee Laroc que, Consumers Gas record big wins Saturday Sat. Feb. 10/90 Larocque 7 Emiels 6 Mike Wilson opened the scoring for Larocque, assisted by Jeff Fletcher and Steve Gilbert. Jeff Fletcher scored again for Laroc- que, unassisted to end the first period. In the second, Emiels scored the next three. James Patterson, from Brad Strickert, Kirk Swain from Jon Jamieson, and Matt Brown from Andrew Garnett. Later in the second Jeremy Stevens scored from Jeff Flet- cher. Emiels went ahead as James Patterson scored unassisted. Larocque's Mike Wilson fired back and scored from Jeff Fletcher. Kirk Swain for Emiels scored from Jeff Jamieson. Larocque fired for three quick ones. Jeff Fletcher from Mike Wilson, Mike Wilson from Steve Gilbert, -and then Steve Gilbert unassisted on an amazing pick up and rush to score. Emiels didn't give up and net- ted one late in the third, Jon Jamieson from Gord Bentley. Final - Larocque 7, Emiels 6. Scala5 Big V 2 Big V went on the scoreboard first with two in the first. John Hall from Clay Scott and Derek Anderson from Troy Anderson. In the second period, Scala rallied for three goals to take the lead. Matt Phoenix from Sean Gawley, Graham Holt from Sean Gawley and Sean Gawley from Graham Holt. It was Scala in the third who dominated the scoreboard with another two. With seconds remaining in the first, Big V's Derek Anderson scored from Johnathan McCourt and John Hall. In the second period, Larocque rallied for eight goals, Jeff Flet- cher had two, Ryan Larmer and Steven Kyte assisting on both. Steve Gilbert had one assisted by Justin Wootton and Ryan Larmer. Steve Kyte from Jeff Fletcher and Ryan Larmer, Ryan Larmer had two, Justin Wootton and Kyle McClymont assisting on both. In the second, Consumers rallied for two in the early minutes, Mat Mantel from Jason Vader and Chad Barker, and Eric Lucyk from Scot Prechitko. Scala finally scored one, Mark Dunn from Sean Sauter and Alan Calder. Consumers Gas fired two more before the end of the second period, Jason Vader from Bran- don Puckrin and Eric Lucyk from Scot Prechitko and Mat Mantel. In the third, Eric Lucyk scored his third for his hat trick while Scot Prechitko assisted. Minutes later Consumers' Scot Prechitko scored earning him a hat trick for the contest.
