EARL READER Last Wednesday night many people had to make a decision as to what meeting they should at- tend as their interests were divid- ed. However, the Scugog Historical Society was not too disappointed in their attendance. Several membership dues were brought up to date and new members joined. So that's encouraging. The Congregational meeting at the Island United had a good number of interested people to review the year's ac- complishments and make some changes in committees. Next Sunday the Island United Congregation will meet at the Hall for brunch, all arranged by the men. Now that sounds in- teresting. Let's enjoy it. After that there will be a community and family skating party from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. at the Port Perry Arena. Last week we told you how well the Scout movement is doing on the Island, while some groups in other areas are falling off. We hope some of you have been con- sidering a role of leadership for Boy Scouts who wish to continue. In the meantime, other parents and friends should be buying and selling tickets for the Draw and Bake Sale at the Island Hall February 17.
