Several from the area called and enjoyed a visit. There is a new 4-H Project for Bethesda and Epsom-Utica groups. Beth Wilson and Corrine Croxall will be leaders of the Bethesda group. Gail Kerry and Kathy Acerra are leaders for the Utica-Epsom group. Any girls who were 11 before January 1, 1990 please join. This project is called "Breadventure" and will begin in a couple of weeks. Darlene Christie has returned from a holiday in Florida. Former neighbour, Evelyn Hansen is enjoying a trip to England. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Tapscott attended the 60th wedding an- niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Masters of Stouffville. The recep- tion was held at Markham. Howard and Bernice Thaxter of Kirkfield visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson on Wednesday. On Friday, Paula Wilson and son Jesse were supper guests with Earl and Marie Wilson. Several area residents enjoyed the Kubalek Concert in the Music Hall, Uxbridge on Saturday evening. Norm and Betty Tapscott at- tended a birthday party for Kathy Gundry of Port Perry. Dr. Pat Asling sent home some slides from Jamaica - so on Wed. evening Keith and Faye Ashton and Vickie enjoyed seeing them at the home of her parents Don and Stella Asling. We are pleased to learn that Mr. Gourlie has returned from surgery at Ajax Hospital and is recovering now in Uxbridge Hospital. Recently, a meeting of 80 guiding delegates held a "Cookies" conference & were taken on a tour of the Christie plant, where they saw their "own" cookie cutter and produc- tion assembly line in action. Lord and Lady Baden-Powell were the founders of the Scouting and Guiding movements and both shared the same birthday -- February 22rd. Today, the whole world of Guiding celebrates this double birthday and call it Think- ing Day. This is a good name for this special day because on it all those involved in Guiding take time to think of each other. Think- ing Day parades will be con- ducted throughout the world on February 26. Thinking Day parades will be conducted at Seagrave, Port Perry and "the Island" United Churches that Sunday. 1990 marks the 80th Anniver- sary of Guiding in Canada.
