Sore, Progressive dinner planned for next Social Club UTICA AREA NEWS BY VERA BROWN Church & Sunday School this week will be held in Epsom Church at 11:15 a.m. The Youth Group will be going to the Walter Kerry cottage this weekend. Please meet at the Ar- nold Kerry's at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. At the annual congregational meeting held on Sunday new members were nominated as follows: Replacing outgoing members on the Board of Stewards, Keith Ashton, Elva Kerry and Rod McKay were Gail Kerry, Pat Sutherland and Marydale Tapscott. Outgoing members of Session, Earl Taylor, Nancy Hill, Faye Ashton and Lynne Bertrand were replaced by Cathy McKay Stevenson, Irene Fielding, Donna Ireland and Maurice Tapscott. There were 8 tables of euchre played on Friday evening in the hall. Winners were Ladies 1st An- nie Bowmans, 2nd Edna Meyers & 3rd Doris Redman. Mens 1st ~ Earla Hill, 2nd Doris Hill & 3rd Art Parratt. Freeze-out winners were Annie Bowman & Myrlte Gimblett, Fardy Noble & Jean Pogue were second. Lucky draw winners were Bill Brown, Carolyn Parish and Bruce Houghland. There will be another euchre in two weeks. Our sympathy is extended to Georgina Stucliffe and family in the sudden passing of her father. Georgina has gone to Nova Scotia with her brother Terry Crawford for the funeral service. Please note the change in Social Club for February. It will be in the form of a progressive dinner on Friday the 23rd starting at 7:30 p.m. More information as to the homes visited that evening will be announced later. In charge of the evening activities are Keith and Faye Ashton and Gerald & Nan- cy HIIL The 4-H will be starting a new session sometime this month, be- ing held at Cathy Accera's home on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. The new project "Breadven- ture" will include the making of bread and buns etc. Anyone who is 11 years old may join and the club would welcome any new members who are interested. Leaders are Cathy 985-3466 & Gail 985-7792. Mr. Jim Aird of Kamloops, B.C. was a Saturday supper guest with the Hillis Wilbur family. Jim has been in Port Perry for the past week visiting his father Bob who has been in hospital. Arnold and Gail Kerry have returned home from a trip to Zephyr Hills, Florida where they spent an enjoyable week and a half. Muskateers celebrate birthday On Tuesday Mark Lucas arriv- ed at the home of Terry and Eileen Hodgins to join his wife Heather. Mark is a teacher in Japan and this is their holiday time. Welcome back Mark. Mrs. Pearl Gostick had her granddaughter Judith Merniels- tein of Halifax, Nova Scotia visiting with her last week. The weekly euchre was held on Thursday evening with nine tables. The winners - ladies Rachel Harper, Grace Manns, Bernice Daniels. Men - Jim Red- man, Carl Gimblett, Richard Manns. Draws - Alma Manns, Clara Whitter, Myrtle Gimblett. A number of students went to Ottawa on a school tour, then on PRINCE ALBERT NEWS BY ILEAN PUGH the weekend several families went on a ringette tournament in Ottawa. Happy fifteenth birthday to An- drew Pereman, Darrin and Troy - Hope. The three muskateers. On Sunday Feb. 11 the Sunday School classes, and any adults who can come, are having a winter outing at the Enniskillen Conservation Park. Time: 2:00 p.m. Dress warm and come along. If you need a ride call Dave Jamieson and I'm sure he will ar- range something for you. On Wed. Feb. 14 the U.C.W. will meet in the church hall. The roll call - items for the love box for the nursing home (e.g. candy, per- fume, hand lotion, etc.). The guest speaker will be Susan Reid. All ladies are welcome. The Community Centre Board will be having an open meeting on Tues. Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. in the cen- tre. They would like to see some new faces attended and give some ideas for the future of the centre.
