Ports only goal came on a beautiful short handed play by Ian Shrigley, as he managed to get 3 shots away, and his own re- bounds each time while surround- ed by 5 Oshawa players. Awesome fellow that Ian is! This game was Ports warm-up to their round robin playoff series - their first match-up - the power- ful Peterborough team. Peterborough scored first and led 1-0 until the 2 minute mark when Ian Shrigley stole the puck at center ice, did some fantastic stick handling and then using Peterborough's large defenseman as a screen fired the puck past the HELPS SANITIZE AND Recognizing the need for a more effective cleaning process, Fabri-Zone has designed an owner operated dealership network to offer customers consistently superior cleaning. Port went ahead 2-1 while both teams were short handed as lan Shrigley got the faceoff over to Matt Hobbs who dropped it to our point, Andrew Jones who sent a blistering shot into the net. Two minutes later Peter- borough tied it up again. Port never gave up this see-saw game as 6 minutes later with Brent Harper doing some fancy work in the corner getting the puck to Jason Reid who passed it to Jason Phillips who sent a rocket into the net. End of second period. Peterborough didn't give up either as early in the third they tied it up again. Three minutes later Port finish- ed off the scoring in style with some fine forechecking from Brent Harper and Jeremy Geer to DEODORIZE AS IT CLEANS! top quality results. Nice to have you back Daryl! The game was far from over at this point, with 12 minutes left in the period, Port forechecked and hit the opposition at every oppor- tunity. In doing so, Port blocked many shots in helping James Paterson in his fine performance . today. I'm sure James would like to thank ALL his team mates for their efforts today especially Jason Phillips who was on the receiving end of many hard shots. Best play of the weekend goes to assistant coach/trainer Tim, who stick handled his way around the crowds at the Oshawa Center and made a dazzling pass from his hand to the left fourth finger of Teresa. Way to go Tim!!! Does anybody know where to rent 15 small tuxedo's - the team ap- proves and they are all going. Congratulations from the team and their parents. Port now travels to Cobourg Friday 26th and hosts Cobourg Sunday 28th at 7 p.m.. Penalty free for XL girls Against a much improved Woodville squad the XL Eaglettes played a penalty free game in Woodville. Our girls exchanged sticks, showing their versatility. It was a pleasure to see Janine & Alechia playing red stick so well. Mandy Wakeford had a fine game with 3 goals, 2 assists and - al good passing plays. Brooke Shanley played goal for the first time this year and was close to perfection. Jenny Lane, Janna Senyk, and Jennifer Elliot scored 2 goals each with Pam Hiltz playing a strong game with the white and red stick and notching a goal and 2 assists. Jennifer Donnelly was digging the whole game and assisted on two goals (good pass- ing). Diane Vanderligt showed her skills on red and blue sticks (maybe in goal next time). Melissa Hooker frustrated Wood- ville by holding on to the ring with determination. Woodville's Sherri Prentice scored on a beautiful breakaway pass, spoiling Brooke's shut-out. The girls skated & played hard and listened well on the bench. A special thanks to Bonni-Jo Norton who watched her team play for the first time.
