Blanchard roars back to nip Crandell 5-4 STANDINGS TIGHTEN UP! In the first game of the day, Blanchard's mounted a great comeback from 4-2 to defeat Crandell's 54. Scoring for Blanchard's were Dan Horner 2 goals, Richie Lefort 1 goal, assist, and Mike Driscoll 1 goal, 1 assist'. Other assists went to Ivan Geer with 2 and Kei- jo Kinnunen one. Counting for Crandells' were Rick Hope 1 goal, 2 assists, John Robertson, Bart Wager and Gary Lance 1 goal each. Ken Jeffrey picked up the only other assist. The second game was similar to the first as time ran out for Laroc- que as they lost 5-4 to J&D. A total of 22 teams (14 mens, eight ladies) will be com- "peting in the annual tourna- ment hosted by the Port Perry Broomball Association. And their opposition will be coming from as far away as Sud- bury, Toronto, Barrie, Oshawa, Millbrook and Cannington. The tournament will get underway this Friday night at 11:00 and the action will continue virtually non-stop for the next 24 hours. The championship game is glated to get started at 11:00 PM Saturday night. A total of just over $2,000 in prize money is up for grabs in this tournament.
