A spokesman with the Re- gional Police said at least one person had to be cut from the wreckage. } The spokesman said the in- juries were serious, but not life threatening. } The accident took place just after 3:00 PM at the intersec- tion of the Shirley Road and the Oshawa Road, three miles south of Port Perry. ) Regional Police were still investigating the accident as of Monday morning, but a spokes- man said it started when a southbound vehicle was stopped on the Oshawa Road, waiting to make a left turn onto the Shirley Road. A second southbound car, driven by Peter Handley of Fenelon Falls, rammed the back of the stopped car, forcing it into the northbound lane where it was struck by a car driven by Walter Cracknell of Omemee, which in turn was struck by a third southbound mini-van driven by Ken Trayn- ox Port Perry. Regional Police said dam- age to three of the vehicles was extensive, and a charge of care- less driving has been laid against Peter Handley. With less than a week to go until their "Lighting Celebra- tion", there are still over half of the lights to be purchased. The campaign, aimed at raising money for the Easter Seals Society asks residents to purchase an outdoor Christ- mas tree bulb and help light up the large tree in front of their office at the corner of Queen St. and 7A highway. With every $3.00 donation a bulb will be placed on the tree, and the objective is to cover the tree from top to bottom with these light donations. Companies as well as individuals are invited to donate, and a string of lights is available for $75.00. All proceeds will be turned over to the Rotary Club, for their Easter Seal campaign. The Port Perry office of Century 21 were given 1000 bulbs to sell, and they hope, that by this Saturday, Dec. 16, they on all be purchased and on the tree for their lighting cele- ration. Tables will be set up at IGA, the Post Office and Valu- Mart on Friday and Saturday this week to make the lights available to the public. They are also available at any time from the Century 21 office. The public is invited to join in the Festive Tree Lighting at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday at the Century 21 office (across from the beer store). When the switch is finally thrown, officials hope the tree will be the brightest this town has ever seen. 2 . , Seafood & Steak House ) 1180 Simcoe St.N., Oshawa 436-9333 or 436-9065 OPEN 7 DAYS a WEEK Banquet Facilities Available EVERYDAY DINNER SPECIALS . * Roast Prime Beef (Can, Grade A) - ANY SPECIAL FOR ONLY: * * New York Steak & Shrimps * Fresh Seafood Plate Take time out from Christmas Shopping for a real treat: 15 pieces of delicious Dixie Lee chicken. \ | [J $12.99 Dec. 31/89 Tn Dixie Lee Chicken, 136 Water St., Port Perry 985-9009 rr tng ma pt mg Ser,
