Eileen McLaughlin reported four Eastern Bluebirds made a stop-over at their home. Hector and May Shortridge en- joyed having Hector's sister as a weekend guest. Mrs. Manetta Martin of Englehart had accom- panied her daughter and son-in- law, Ross and Louise Williams and family of Englehart to this area and took the opportunity to join Hector for his birthday on Saturday. It certainly was the bir- thday week there, as May and Bill had celebrated their birthdays on Tuesday. Happy birthday to you all. On Thursday Kathleen Petrie, Eleanor Werry, Dorothy Lee, Grace Bajema and Joyce Kelly attended the District 4 annual meeting in Lindsay. The date for the 1990 Blackstock Fair was set as Saturday, August 25, Elizabeth Peeters was elected District Homecraft President. A birthday supper was held for two-year old Christina Bryans at Deb, Gord and Leanna's home in Eygpt. Those helping her to celebrate were Patti Alpe and Nathan, Karl and Lisa Weeden, Terry and Robbin Black, Travis, Darren and Nicole; Nancy and Bob Bryans all of Blackstock, Brad Black of Bowmanville and Blackstock and Area News by Joyce Kelly Bev and Shirley Black of Oshawa. Earlier in the week several of the Brown clan enjoyed cake and ice-cream celebrating the many birthdays in the fall. On Saturday Wilma and Keith Van Camp and Joan Graham at- tended the auction at Woodstock were Harvey Graham was presented with his Diploma from South Western Auctioneering School which he had attended last week. Keith and Wilma visited their daughter Leanne and Jim O'Donnell and Ashley at Kitchener. 0.N.O. Meeting! On October 12, with the mood set and the atmosphere very dim, the O.N.O. girls sat in a circle at the home of Eileen McLaughlin. What were we doing, you may ask? Only those present will ever know. Following the Secretary and Treasurer's reports, the following main items were discussed: - the upcoming Octoberfest which by now is over, proving itself very successful. - Comedy play entitled "Letter from Wingfield Farm" featuring Duet to sing at The talented vocal duet, Frank and Debbie Hargreaves will be sharing a concert of Gospel Music at the Kawartha Associatibn's Fall Rally which will be held at Port Perry Baptist Church on Fri- day, November 3, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be a varied program of hymns, familiar Gospel Music and their own original songs. Frank and Debbie have a challenging testimony and Marjorie Emma Honey, 66 Marjorie Emma Honey passed away Monday August 14, 1989 at the Port Perry Hospital. She was in her 67th year. Marjorie was born and raised in Port Perry. She was the eldest child of Cecil and Florence Jef- frey. Marjorie married Frank Honey in September 1944, and that year they moved to the Honey farm north of Port Perry where they raised their two children. Frank passed away December 1971. Marjorie stayed on the farm until 1987, then mov- ed to an apartment in Port Perry. 'She was a member of the Port Perry Fairboard, Curling Club and The Marathon Bridge Club. Marjorie's door was always open to many family and friends, particularily anyone who enjoyed a good game of cards. In February of this year she went to California with long time friend and companion Mr. Bruce Beare. Marjorie Honey is survived by her son Richard and his wife Laure of Port Perry and daughter Jennet and her husband Peter Robinson of Sunderland. Loving grandmother of Scott, Stevie Lp and Patrick McClurg. Sister of John Jeffrey of Bowmanville, Maurice Jeffrey of Port Perry, Lucille Scott of Wilberforce and Harold Jeffrey of Port Perry. A funeral service was held at Baptist Church are becoming one of Gospel Music's most inspiring duets. You will not want to miss this ex- cellent musical ministry. Rev.
