UNICEF Carnival - It's coming soon, the S.A. Cawker UNICEF Carnival. From 1 to 3 on the after- noon of Tuesday, October 31st, all the students will be getting into the spirit of Hallowe'en. Grade 4, 5, 6 and 7 classes will be organiz- ing at least one activity. Students will be allowed to go to any activi- ty which interests them. The cost of activities will be 10 cents, although some activities such as face painting may cost more. The primary students are invited to bring in some baked goods which the students may purchase for a minimal charge. The proceeds from this day will allow us to sponsor a foster child, and the re- mainder will be forwarded to UNICEF. As a result, students will not be asked to carry UNICEF boxes when they go trick or treating. Parents are in- vited to join us on that afternoon unless they are too frightened to enter the haunted maze! Two students who have entered into the spirit of the carnival are sharing their expressions with us: Come to the Carnival Come, come to the UNICEF Carnival at S.A. Cawker on Hallowe'en day from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.. So come and bring you dimes. This money that we make goes to UNICEF and to a foster child. ¥ou will be paying 10 cents for most games in each room. P.S. Parents are welcome too! Cawker ever since our teacher Miss McLeish told us that we are going to have a UNICEF Carnival. You go from the Haunted Swamp to Fishing for Bats. Ghosts ghouls, vampires and skeletons, you will find it all at the UNICEF carnival. You will also help a child in need. Matt Somerville Grade 5 Miss McLeish's class over 300 people Community Care Volunteers and helpers provide many need- ed services to Seniors and those with special needs throughout the Township. Currently Adult Volunteers are needed on an occasional basis, to deliver Meals on Wheels, to drive to medical appointments or local shopping, or to help with the Foot Care Clinics. There is reinbursement for gas expense and Volunteer drivers are protected by a Third Party Nonowned Auto Insurance car- Questions. ried by Community Care. Each year Community Care assists over three hundred people. In an area that has no public transportation, it is crucial that we support our neighbours who are no longer able to drive. A cou- ple of hours a week is time well spent in making it possible for them to remain part of our com- munity. Won't you please help?
