RT at Sides el Swamp Auto 5 Causeway Esso 2 Wednesday night saw Swamp over-power a short handed Esso squad. Carl Payne opened the scoring after splitting the defence, letting go a shot that trickled past the netminder as he stopped most of it. Jason Coutoulakis blocked a pass at centre ice, skated in on left wing, deeked the goalie and tucked the puck behind him to give Swamp a two goal lead. In the second period Lou Whit- field got the first marker for Causeway when he shot from a bad angle in the corner catching the opposite corner of the net. Jeff Labanovich tied the score for Causeway when he let a long shot go from centre that fooled the net- minder. Mike Olaison scored the eventual winner when he deeked around the defence and caught the corner of the net above the glove hand. Jason Coutoulakis got his 2nd and 3rd of the night for Swamp to end the scoring. He popped in the rebound on a two man break and banged home a re- bound off the boards. Frank Real Estate 5 Emmerson Insurance 1 Saturday morning saw Frank Real Estate come up against Em- merson Insurance. Stephen Parrish opened the scoring for Frank when he shot from a bad angle in the corner, the goalie lost the puck in his pads. Scott Airey added Frank's 2nd from a scramble in front of the Auctioneers nip Uxbridge 3-2 The Pearce Auctions Novice played to a 2-2 tie in their first ex- hibition game against the Oshawa LNHL Bruins Oct. 6. Port got on the scoreboard ear- ly in the first with a goal scored by Troy Campbell. Oshawa came back and tied it up at the end of the first. Then Oshawa went ahead 2-1 in the second. With-2 seconds left in the game, Port tied it up with a goal scored by Adam Hobbs. Once again action was great Friday Oct. 13. Port Perry Novice 1 took a 3-2 win against Uxbridge in their second exhibition game. Port started the game with a quick goal by Johnathon Reed scoring with a nice pass by Adam Jones and Blayne Kinnunen. Ux- bridge scored to tie it up before the period ended. In the second there was no scor- ing, but plenty of action. Ports goaltender, Shane Savage made a great save as Uxbridge had a penalty shot in that period. In the third, Uxbridge scored with 3 minutes left to play, but Port never gave up as they got another goal by Johnathon Reed assisted by Adam Jones and Blayne Kinnunen. Then with play- ing short handed Justin Kowalczyk took a pass from Dillon Weber and fired a hard shot to give Port a 3-2 win. On Frank's third goal Emmerson's goalie had another bad break as Mark Cosway shot the puck out from behind the net and in off the net minders pads. Rob Romano made a nice play blocking a clearing shot to give Frank a 2 on 1 rush with Rob passing to Troy Fisher for the score. Mark Cosway rounded out the scoring for Frank fighting off a defender to go in alone and score. J. D. Hefferin spoiled Noel Lover- ings shut-out bid scoring with eight minutes remaining in the game. I.G.A. 6 Canadian Tire 5 Peter Simms scored first for [.G.A. taking a pass from the face-off circle and scoring on his own rebound. Blair Beveridge added 1.G.A.'s 2nd marker when he let a shot go that found the corner above the goalies glove hand. Ian McClelland scored from the slot through a maze of players on a screened netminder. I.G.A. was playing short handed when Billy Sandiford stole the puck and went in alone to score. I.G.A. had pulled ahead again, the score being 3-2. Chris Cooper scored unasssisted to tie the score again when he flipped the puck over an outstretched goalie.
