The trip on Skylark IV lasted from 12 pm. to 7 p.m.. Enroute they enjoyed a cold buffet. Upon reaching Lind- say the group attended the last production of the season at the Summer Theatre in Lindsay Academy Theatre, Nicole and Gertie. Freeman's Bus picked them up and brought them home again. Vernon and Vera Asselstine have returned home last week from a six- weeks camping holiday to all Maritime Provinces in their new van-camper. They enjoyed touring many, many unusual places as well as the customary tourist sites. Last Friday our area had a most interesting visitor, Mr. George Blackstock, a great nephew of the man after whom our village was named many years ago. Mr. Blackstock is Canada's Consul-General to Germany where he has been posted for several years. A most unexpected but pleasant surprise to meet George who is so interested in the past history of Blackstock. Kathleen and Davio Petrie and boys entertained a classmate of Kathleen from her school days in Scotland last week from Monday to Thursday. Mary Sweeney and her sister-in- law Irene Nicholson of Ceres, Scotland enjoyed touring the area and much visiting. On Thursday David and Kathleen en- joyed the drive to Kingston where they took the two ladies to visit their cousin Mr. and Mrs. David Neve who is a professor at Queen's University. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Weir entertained a number of relatives at their new home in Bowmanville on Monday evening. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Luke, Mrs. Andrea Weir and Russell Weir of Port Perry, Lawrence VanCamp and Joanne Sweeting and Craig Larmer.
