Andifitfell in the opposite di- rection, Mrs. Archibald fears it would have crashed into the bedroom where she her hus- band, Glenn, were sleeping. The Archibalds have rented the two bedroom house at 278 Shanley St. for three-and-a-half ears. Mrs. Archibald said she ad often complained to David Lister, the property man Tr) about the state of the willo tree Her final call to the property manager was sometime in the early summer months, she said. "I told him the tree wasn't safe right from the start," she said. "It was a risky tree. Light- ning has hit the tree too often. "He sent his men out and they said it was safe," she said. The Archibalds are in the pro- cess of moving to Seagrave. They received an eviction notice earlier this summer. The land is zoned commercial and the own- ers are planning on developing the piece of property. In a telephone conversation with the property manager, Mr. Lister said the site is "destined for demolition in the next two weeks." Mr. Lister, who works for a real estate company in Willow- dale, manages the property. He said he notified the Archi- balds about the demolition and gave them a notice of eviction three months ago. Mr. Lister said he has had some run-ins with Mrs. Archi- bald before this and feels this incident is the final chance to stir up the pot before she moves. "She has the ability to magni- fy things out of proportion," Mr. Lister said. "We have had the tree checked for our own purposes and we were absolutely assured there was not a problem with the tree," he said. "It's quite coincidential the tree fell down about two weeks before it was to be demolished," Mr. Lister said. BIGGER & BETTER OS Come oninandtry our new donuts at our Special Prices!
