PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, August 15, 1989 -- 13 All the summer fun for the kids will soon be over Catch the wave and the sun at Day Camp you 'The Day Campers were treated to a thrill last week as they had a Talent Air Band Show. In addition to dancers, musicians and comedians, there was a muscleman contest which was well enjoyed by all 35 campers. You can see that all the swimming, excursions and baking have really round- ed out this little Hulkster (all he needs is a bandanna). SE Daisy's o Fabrics located in Luke's Country Store 201 QUEEN STREET, PORT PERRRY 985-3221 To all you beach bums out there, come on out to Port Perry Daycamp and catch the wave, for it's a week of fun in the sun! Little Johnny will be there, but he needs all his friends to come out and join him in a game of beachball volleyball. Also bring your shovel and pail so you can really dig those sand castles. Aand for all you water rats out there we have a day of water relays at Birdseye Pool. Those who would rather stay on land and soak up the rays, can show off some skin in the tanning contest. And Wednesday it's three strikes and you're out, at our baseball game in the park. Thursday, at Birdseye Park we are having the Big Playday, where all kids from Daycamp and Playground are allowed to join in on the fun and games. The fun in the sun does not end here, for we still have the crowning of the Mr. Muscle and Miss Swimsuit competition followed by the camp closing Beach Party Bash! Well, last week, here at Daycamp there was just so much talent, it made out Talent/Air- band show a smashing hit of the week, along with the trip to the Kawartha Summer Theatre. The winners of our Talent/Airband show for single performance: Katie, Group performance: Katie, Alli, Kimmie; Ages 5-8: Ryan and ages 9-12: Jeff, for Mr. Universe of 89. Well little Johnny missed out on winning the child of the week again, to Jeff McKonkey. Don't worry Johnny, you still have a chance to win it next week. But this doesn't seem to be the reason for why Johnny's crying. I bet I khow why, because next week is the last week of Daycamp! But don't be sad, "Just be glad, For thers's still one week of fun, And its in the sun. Thanks to all the community's support, it made camp life alot more fun.
