Many events will be going on over the course of the 3 days. Through this column I will in- form you of the events. I en- courage both children and adults to exhibit. There are prizes and ribbons for first, second and third place winners. The Prize List Book is now available. Copies can be obtained at the Port Perry Star, Scugog Library or by calling me at 985-3819. A program of events and an entry form can be found in this book. This week I will cover Childrens Events. On Saturday, September 2, there is a Pet Show, with 11 categories. A few of them are the biggest dog, the smallest dog, dog with the longest tail, dog with the shortest tail, largest cat, smallest cat. Entries for the Pet Show can be made at the Fairgrounds. There is also a Colouring con- test for children up to the age of 12. This will be on Saturday at 10:30. At 2:00 p.m. is the Clown Con- test with 3 classes - 5 yrs. and under, ages 6-8, and ages 9-12. Junior Fair Lists were distributed to all elementary school children in Scugog Township. Children may enter ex- hibits, with no entry fee. Parents are urged to encourage their children but allow them to do the work. In the Vegetable and Root Sec- tion there are 12 classes. Some ex- amples are: 1. 5 Red Potatoes. 2. Beets, 3 roots. 3. Carrots, 3 roots, any variety. The Flower Section has 12 classes. An example is: 1. Roses, 2 blooms ; 2. Asters, 3 blooms or sprays.
