32 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 5, 1989 Cartwright Minor Softball League action June 21, 1989 Senior Division Blackstock Country Hardware vs Causeway Esso with a final score of 20 to 14. Blackstock Country Hardware did it again. They brought in runs from Cliff Pelrine and Jay Buma. Triples were hit by Chris Bryant, Mike Hepburn, Cliff Pelrine and David Kett. Andy Avis hit twe doubles with others coming from Mike Staniland, Doug Taylor, Brandi Boardman and Chris Beacock. Run saving catches were made by Mike Staniland, David Kett and Doug Taylor. Mike Hepburn did a super job pit- ching. The coaches would like to thank all the parents for attending our games. It is easier to play with a loud cheering section. Although Causeway Esso was defeated the team played really hard. Outstanding were Craig Rowntree at bat with John Ralston as catcher also Andy Wilson and Kyle Simms for their - pitching. Blackstock Lions vs Cummings Backhoe with a final score of 14 to 12. The Lions had excellent pit- ching by Brendon Agnew who also hit two homeruns and two doubles GUARANTEED INVESTMENT Annual Rates and managed to hit in six RBI's. Barry Ross hit a homerun, two doubles and a single driving in four RBI's. Bristol Sleep had a great play at third with good solid pitching by Donny Cliff and ter- rific fielding from Chris Murphy in left field. Intermediate Division Port Perry Kinsmen vs Blackstock Lioness with a final score of 16 to 8. The Kinsmen had homeruns from Kingsley Malcolm, Jason Logan, Brad Morton and Johnathan McCourt. Along with triples and doubles throughout the game outstanding catches were made by Brad Morton and Johnathan McCourt with a great effort by Ryan Copithorn on third base. For the Lioness there was a single homerun hit by Gardon Bentley. A triple was hit by Brad Vokins and doubles by Dustin Marnock and Scott Swain. The rest of the game consisted of singles by Brennan Malcolm, Gordon Bentley, Dustin Marnoch, Brad Vokins, Melissa Donnelly and Bill Duncan. Mat Brad- burn, Derek Leeming and Mike Leeming brought in the doubles of the game. It seemed to be the singles by John Ford, Leanne Goslin (2), Blain Pelrine (3), Derek Leeming, Jim Chapman (2), Rebecca Marple (2), and Tony Waldriff (3) that won the game. Good catches were made by Mike Leeming, Mat Bradburn and John Ford with a great hit by Kim Stewart. Pitching was shared by Leanne Goslin, Derek Leeming and Tony Waldriff with great results. A good eye was had by Christina Ewart with two walks. Maltheb Farms had triples from Ronald Kelly with doubles by Mike Carlson, Keith White and Scott Nesbitt. Outstanding cat- ches came from Ronald Kelly and Peter Bostelmann. Lishmans vs Asselstines Yamaha with a final score of 16 to 14. Junior Division Swain Seed Sluggers vs Superspud with a final score of 5 to 2. For the Sluggers Dillan Weber hit a homerun bringing home two more runners with him. Shane Savage brought in a double with singles by Robert Lines and Shauna Hassall. Good pitching by Derek Campbell, Dillan Weber and Shane Savage. Terrific cat- ches were made by Derek Camp- bell and Jesse Gould at first base. The Superspuds homerun was brought in by Mike Lang. Great effort in pitching was made by Linsey Ingram considering it was her first game in the pitchers mound. Don Frew & Sons vs H & M Wright Sox with a final score of 19 to7. . Don Frew & Sons homerun was scored by Trevor Marnoch with triples by Darryll McClurg and Trevor Marnoch. Doubles were by David Carnaghan, Ryan Woods and Jason Malcolm. The trio of Jason Malcolm, Trevor Marnoch and Darryll McClurg did a great job on the mound. Trevor Marnoch did some fan- tastic throwing along with great catching from Luc Wilson. For H & M Wright Sox homeruns came from Adam Stewart and Michael Versage with doubles from Danny Lyons, Michael Versage and Pam Goble. Singles were hit by Andrew Flynn, Danny Lyons and Michael Versage. Outstanding catches were made by Danny Lyons, Trevor Barr, Michael Versage (2) and David Bauer with two also. Outstanding plays came from Trevor Barr and Pam Goble along with great pitching from Pam Goble and Danny Lyons.
